Leather Luggage Memories

By: Michael Russell

Article Word Count: 404

Leather luggage is good for gift giving. I also have seen it used as rewards and incentives. There is a feeling of permanence to leather luggage that is just not conveyed with canvas bags.

When I was a child, my father traveled a lot. I used to get very sad when I would see his leather luggage all pulled out from the closet and put onto the bed. The garment bag was so soft and well-worn. The smell from leather luggage still brings that garment bag to my mind.

Dominos Pizza has rewards for their managers. Leather luggage is one of these rewards. The first time that a store hits a weekly sales goal of fifteen thousand dollars, the manager of the store get leather luggage. My husband was the manager of a Dominos Pizza when it hit this mark and the leather luggage that he received was really very nice.

The leather luggage that my mother uses when she travels has a handle and wheels. She did a lot of research prior to buying so that she could find the sturdiest construction. She has a little difficulty with heavy object and needed leather luggage that was going to roll properly and not fall or break.

I have been known to give small pieces of leather luggage to friends as they marry. I have on more than one occasion bought a leather toiletry bag and filled it with all types of fancy items for a honeymoon. This gift is always appreciated.

I dont really consider the leather tote that I carry to be leather luggage, but the luggage department is where I purchased it. It is just the right size to carry the items that I need every day. My library books fit just nicely inside of my leather tote and my purse fits in there as well.

When I was in college, I bought myself a leather backpack in the leather luggage section of a store in the mall. It was the best backpack I have ever owned. I was a little bit sad after graduation that I was going to have to grow up and put away the backpack. I still have that backpack, though. I plan to give it to my stepson when he starts high school.
